Heat treatment furnace at Metals of Bahrain

Heat Treatment

Heat treating is a group of industrial and metalworking processes used to alter the physical properties of a material through controlled heating or chilling to extreme temperatures. Metals of Bahrain's Heat Treatment division delivers a full range of thermal processes to achieve the target hardness, strength and dimensional stability required by each component.

Our heat treatment facility is equipped with

  • Dhanaprakash Furnace Heavy-duty heat treatment furnace for high-volume thermal processing of large ferrous and non-ferrous castings.
  • 3-Ton HT Furnace (×3) Three dedicated 3-ton capacity heat treatment furnaces providing flexible batch scheduling and high throughput for annealing, hardening and stress-relieving cycles.
  • HT Furnace Blower Forced-air circulation blower ensuring uniform temperature distribution throughout the furnace chamber for consistent, repeatable thermal cycles.

Available processes

  • Stress RelievingRemoves residual stresses induced during casting or machining to improve dimensional stability in service.
  • AnnealingSoftens the material and refines the microstructure, improving machinability and ductility.
  • HardeningIncreases surface and through hardness to meet wear resistance requirements.
  • Water QuenchingRapid cooling in water to achieve high hardness in compatible alloy grades.
  • Forced Air QuenchingControlled air cooling for alloys that require a moderate quench rate to avoid cracking.
  • TemperingFollows hardening to reduce brittleness and achieve the target balance of hardness and toughness.
